KateHaus, started as Alpine Moon Photography by Katharine Hauschka in 2005, is a destination photography service based out of Washington DC, with Colorado and Massachusetts ties. I specialize in weddings, portraiture, events, nature and travel photography. I also work with photography in food, sports, modeling, fashion, architecture, archiving, multimedia slideshows and retouching. I'm a graduate of Boston University's Center for Digital Imaging and I have my work published in various books, magazines and educational displays.
So every other event and bat mitzvah and bar mitzvah was cancelled this day due to the blizzard that hit the city of DC, but not this one. Despite the weather, lots of friends and family trekked through 2 feet of snow to get to Jack’s Bar Mitzvah and boy, did we had a blast!...
This sweet family had me meet them in down town Washington DC so we could take advantage of the amazing sights that exist. The challenge was the chilly weather, other than that, we had some neat lighting, and four fun subjects!

Such a happy family was this group and so excited to have these two adorable little girls in their lives. They had me come take some fun pics of the girls in their home as well as the family to have some good keepsakes for the future.

So it was a absolutely stunning day and incredibly bright! Perfect for a fun photo shoot with Kate and her family. These little girls were a hoot, constantly exploring and stopping never! We headed to some gardens up in Silver Springs MD to take some great candid shots of the family in action. Enjoy!

So it was another grey day….one of many this fall…but that didn’t stop these adorable children from having a blast in the leaves. We hung out together, playing and taking photos…You can see the great amount of energy they each had. I had a wonderful time working with them! Enjoy!
